Like many Councils across Australia, Scenic Rim Regional Council is experiencing a significant shortage of planners and a regular increase in planning applications. This challenging situation is contributing to delays in processing times and additional pressure on critical planning resources.

GovPartners was engaged in January 2024 to provide assessment services on behalf of Council to boost capability and capacity within the planning team. During this engagement, GovPartners has assessed applications within the statutory timeframes, have been central point in introducing new processes focused on improving the overall planning assessment operations at Council and have taken an active role in mentoring and developing existing staff. This worthwhile investment by Council has improved productivity, output and staff wellbeing.

"With a shortage of experienced planners in the industry, we engaged GovPartners to assist Council with capacity challenges. The output has been fantastic and we have received positive feedback from our Councillors too. We have also benefited from process efficiency recommendations and a greater focus on the customer. If you are a Council in need of experienced planning assistance, I have no hesitation in recommending GovPartners."
