Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect)

In 2023, Aspect made a strategic decision to enhance their inhouse Project Management capabilities and resources 

following the formalisation of their Project Management Office. Having typically used external Project Management 

companies working off site, Aspect recognised the need for better internal collaboration across the nine schools and 

various business units and an opportunity to improve relationships with providers. To support the transition, GovPartners  were engaged to strengthen Aspect’s internal project management processes and procedures and to boost capacity.

A period of discovery was completed to understand the organisational values and priorities, existing process, and governance arrangements. GovPartners subsequently made several recommendations for improvement which included full oversight and requests for approval from the Board and Executive Leadership team, detailed masterplans for each site and enhanced stakeholder engagement.

A dedicated project management resource was also allocated to the head office in Sydney to oversee capital works projects across four education sites in Western Sydney (NSW), Riverina (NSW/VIC border) and Adelaide (SA). The services provided also included assistance with the ongoing development of internal processes and documentation, a focus on asset management and funding grant opportunities.

GovPartners provided Aspect with independent and experienced insight into programs, processes and gaps to enable action. We provided structure, direction and focus, strong and effective management of capital works projects, and valued stakeholder engagement. As a result, the capital works program was delivered on time and to budget during our engagement.
